FSI Appraisal Company was first established in 1986 as a subsidiary of a Western Massachusetts savings bank. In 1990, the company was purchased by its current owner, Stephen A. Brunelle.
In addition to providing appraisal services to many of the leading local, regional and national lenders, FSI Appraisal provides real estate appraisal and consulting services to the legal profession, local, state, and federal governmental agencies, real estate developers, investors and the general public.
FSI currently employs three residential appraisers and three commercial appraisers.

Stephen A. Brunelle, President has over thirty-years of real estate and banking experience.
After graduating from American International College in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, Stephen began a career in appraisal work for a Western Massachusetts bank. His training includes successful completion of course work sponsored by the Appraisal Institute and the Massachusetts Board of Real Estate Appraisers.
Stephen holds a General Certification License from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, #233, and
- Has served on the Board of Directors for the former Western Massachusetts Chapter of the Appraisal Institute,
- Has participated as a speaker and panelist in numerous educational presentations, and
- Has testified as an expert witness in Probate Court, District Court, Superior Court and U.S. Bankruptcy Court.
Properties that Stephen has appraised include single and multi-family residential properties, commercial and industrial properties, raw land and land development.
Stephen is active in the community having coached little league baseball for many years in the Town of Southampton, MA, and
- Has served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Nonotuck Valley Hockey Association and served as its treasurer for 2-years.
- He is a past board member of the Hampshire Regional YMCA and also served as its treasurer and vice president,
- Stephen is past president of the Generators of the Northampton Chamber of Commerce, and
- Currently serves as a board member for the Easthampton Friends for Football.

Kevin attended The Johns Hopkins University Doctoral Program and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Massachusetts. For 11 years he was an associate Assessor for the Town of South Hadley. Kevin is an Associate Member of the Massachusetts Board of Real Estate Appraisers. He has worked at FSI since 1998 and has appraised all types of commercial and industrial properties including raw land and land development.

Peter received an undergraduate degree from Valparaiso University in Geography, Urban Planning and Design and a Postgraduate Certificate in Accounting, C.P.A. from the University of Illinois. He's been involved in the real estate appraisal profession since 1992 and has appraised a wide range of property types in Maryland and here in Western Massachusetts.

Shirley began her career listing and selling real estate and moved quickly into appraising. She is an Associate Member of the Massachusetts Board of Real Estate Appraisers and has been affiliated with FSI since 1988. Shirley specializes in the appraisal of 1-4 family properties, condominiums and residential building lots.

Osa was active in the listing and selling of real estate for over 20 years before beginning her training as an appraiser. She is active in many community projects and organizations including the League of Woman Voters. Osa has been affiliated with FSI since 1998 and appraises all types of residential property including country properties with large tracts of land.

Ellen has been active in the appraisal of residential property since 1998. Her experience includes areas of Central Massachusetts and the three counties of Hampden, Hampshire and Franklin, MA. She joined the staff at FSI in 2005.
